CVSS v3.1 |
| A vulnerability in the function that performs IPv4 and IPv6 Network Address Translation (NAT) DNS inspection for Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
This vulnerability is due to an infinite loop condition that occurs when a Cisco Secure ASA or Cisco Secure FTD device processes DNS packets with DNS inspection enabled and the device is configured for NAT44, NAT64, or NAT46. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted DNS packets that match a static NAT rule with DNS inspection enabled through an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to create an infinite loop and cause the device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition. |
| A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in the multipart request boundary processing mechanism of the Invoke-AI server (version v5.0.1) allows unauthenticated attackers to cause excessive resource consumption. The server fails to handle excessive characters appended to the end of multipart boundaries, leading to an infinite loop and a complete denial of service for all users. The affected endpoint is `/api/v1/images/upload`. |
| OpenDJ is an LDAPv3 compliant directory service. OpenDJ prior to 4.9.3 contains a denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability that causes the server to become unresponsive to all LDAP requests without crashing or restarting. This issue occurs when an alias loop exists in the LDAP database. If an ldapsearch request is executed with alias dereferencing set to "always" on this alias entry, the server stops responding to all future requests. Fortunately, the server can be restarted without data corruption. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.9.3. |
| Memory corruptions can be remotely triggered in the Control-M/Agent when SSL/TLS communication is configured.
The issue occurs in the following cases:
* Control-M/Agent 9.0.20: SSL/TLS configuration is set to the non-default setting "use_openssl=n";
* Control-M/Agent 9.0.21 and 9.0.22: Agent router configuration uses the non-default settings "JAVA_AR=N" and "use_openssl=n" |
| A vulnerability in the IKEv2 feature of Cisco IOS Software, IOS XE Software, Secure Firewall ASA Software, and Secure FTD Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition.
This vulnerability is due to the improper processing of IKEv2 packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted IKEv2 packets to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause an infinite loop that exhausts resources and could cause the device to reload. |
| nanoid (aka Nano ID) before 5.0.9 mishandles non-integer values. 3.3.8 is also a fixed version. |
| A vulnerability in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) subsystem of Cisco IOS XE Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to improper error handling when parsing a specific SNMP request. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specific SNMP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a DoS condition.
This vulnerability affects SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. To exploit this vulnerability through SNMPv2c or earlier, the attacker must know a valid read-write or read-only SNMP community string for the affected system. To exploit this vulnerability through SNMPv3, the attacker must have valid SNMP user credentials for the affected system. |
| An issue was discovered in the demo/LINUXTCP implementation of cwalter-at freemodbus v.2018-09-12 allowing attackers to reach an infinite loop via a crafted length value for a packet. |
| A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the jaraco/zipp library, affecting all versions prior to 3.19.1. The vulnerability is triggered when processing a specially crafted zip file that leads to an infinite loop. This issue also impacts the zipfile module of CPython, as features from the third-party zipp library are later merged into CPython, and the affected code is identical in both projects. The infinite loop can be initiated through the use of functions affecting the `Path` module in both zipp and zipfile, such as `joinpath`, the overloaded division operator, and `iterdir`. Although the infinite loop is not resource exhaustive, it prevents the application from responding. The vulnerability was addressed in version 3.19.1 of jaraco/zipp. |
| Azle is a WebAssembly runtime for TypeScript and JavaScript on ICP. Calling `setTimer` in Azle versions `0.27.0`, `0.28.0`, and `0.29.0` causes an immediate infinite loop of timers to be executed on the canister, each timer attempting to clean up the global state of the previous timer. The infinite loop will occur with any valid invocation of `setTimer`. The problem has been fixed as of Azle version `0.30.0`. As a workaround, if a canister is caught in this infinite loop after calling `setTimer`, the canister can be upgraded and the timers will all be cleared, thus ending the loop. |
| Loop with unreachable exit condition ('infinite loop') vulnerability in The Wikimedia Foundation Mediawiki - GrowthExperiments Extension allows Leveraging Time-of-Check and Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) Race Conditions. This issue was remediated only on the `master` branch. |
| Forge (also called `node-forge`) is a native implementation of Transport Layer Security in JavaScript. Prior to version 1.4.0, a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the node-forge library due to an infinite loop in the BigInteger.modInverse() function (inherited from the bundled jsbn library). When modInverse() is called with a zero value as input, the internal Extended Euclidean Algorithm enters an unreachable exit condition, causing the process to hang indefinitely and consume 100% CPU. Version 1.4.0 patches the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath11k: fix RCU stall while reaping monitor destination ring
While processing the monitor destination ring, MSDUs are reaped from the
link descriptor based on the corresponding buf_id.
However, sometimes the driver cannot obtain a valid buffer corresponding
to the buf_id received from the hardware. This causes an infinite loop
in the destination processing, resulting in a kernel crash.
kernel log:
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data msdu_pop: invalid buf_id 309
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data dp_rx_monitor_link_desc_return failed
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data msdu_pop: invalid buf_id 309
ath11k_pci 0000:58:00.0: data dp_rx_monitor_link_desc_return failed
Fix this by skipping the problematic buf_id and reaping the next entry,
replacing the break with the next MSDU processing.

| Serialize JavaScript to a superset of JSON that includes regular expressions and functions. Prior to version 7.0.5, there is a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability caused by CPU exhaustion. When serializing a specially crafted "array-like" object (an object that inherits from Array.prototype but has a very large length property), the process enters an intensive loop that consumes 100% CPU and hangs indefinitely. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.5. |
| Issues in stm32 USB device driver (drivers/usb/device/usb_dc_stm32.c) can lead to an infinite while loop. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Versions prior to 6.9.2 have a vulnerability in which an attacker can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires reading a file in non-strict mode. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.9.2. If users cannot upgrade yet, consider applying the changes from the patch manually. |
