CVE-2026-72836 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-14 8.1 High
FileBrowser before 2.63.19 does not account for case-insensitive filesystems when checking home directory ownership during self-registration. When Signup and CreateUserDir are enabled and FileBrowser's root is on a case-insensitive filesystem (confirmed on Windows/NTFS), two self-registered usernames that differ only in letter case (e.g., CaseVictim and casevictim) are stored as distinct accounts but resolve to the same physical home directory, because the scope-ownership check compares the persisted scope as an exact case-sensitive string. A second registrant can therefore read, overwrite, and delete another account's files through authenticated HTTP endpoints, without needing an existing account or victim interaction.
CVE-2026-72837 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-14 8.8 High
File Browser versions before 2.63.20 fail to honor the createUserDir isolation in proxy and hook authentication auto-provisioning paths. Attackers with valid upstream-authenticated credentials can read, modify, delete, and share files belonging to other users by exploiting the server root scope assignment.
CVE-2026-72834 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-14 4.3 Medium
filebrowser before 2.63.19 contains a permission bypass in the /api/resources endpoint. The checksum (?checksum=) branch of resourceGetHandler reads the entire file to compute a digest and returns it without performing a Perm.Download check (unlike the sibling raw, preview, and subtitle paths). As a result, an authenticated user provisioned with Perm.Download=false can obtain a content-hash oracle for any same-scope file (md5/sha1/sha256/sha512), enabling confirmation of known/guessed content, change detection, and offline brute-force of low-entropy files. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-35606; it bypasses only the Download permission and does not defeat scope/path authorization.
CVE-2026-72835 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-14 6.8 Medium
filebrowser versions before v2.63.21 fail to canonicalize paths before evaluating access rules, allowing authenticated users to bypass administrator-defined deny rules using case-variant or backslash-separated paths. Attackers can request files with alternate path representations that match no rule but resolve to the same filesystem object, gaining unauthorized access to denied files within their scope.
CVE-2026-72838 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-14 6.5 Medium
FileBrowser versions before 2.63.19 fail to enforce the declared Upload-Length in the TUS resumable-upload PATCH endpoint, allowing authenticated users to write arbitrary data to disk. Attackers can send oversized request bodies that exceed the declared upload length to exhaust available disk space and cause service unavailability.
CVE-2026-72839 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-13 9.8 Critical
filebrowser through 2.63.16 fails to properly restrict scope and permissions when self-signup is enabled with default CreateUserDir setting. Unauthenticated attackers can register accounts that inherit the server root scope with full create, modify, delete, rename, share, and download permissions, allowing unrestricted access to all files.
CVE-2026-73611 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-13 6.8 Medium
File Browser versions from 2.50.0 through 2.63.21 fail to validate JWT expiration when proxy authentication is configured with a non-default logout page. Attackers with a previously valid token can access protected routes and administrative endpoints indefinitely, and exchange expired tokens for fresh ones via the renewal endpoint.
CVE-2026-73612 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-13 8.1 High
File Browser before v2.63.22 fails to validate access rules for descendants during recursive copy, rename, and delete operations, allowing authenticated users to bypass path-based access controls. Attackers can copy, rename, or delete denied files by operating on their allowed parent directory, defeating rule-based isolation for confidentiality and integrity.
CVE-2026-73613 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-08-13 8.2 High
filebrowser versions before 2.63.19 contain an out-of-scope file deletion vulnerability in the TUS upload cache eviction mechanism that allows authenticated users with only Create permission to delete arbitrary files outside their scope. Attackers can swap an ancestor directory with a symlink during the cache TTL window to redirect the raw os.Remove call to an out-of-scope target, bypassing ScopedFs scope guards and Perm.Delete checks.
CVE-2026-62685 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-07-20 8.1 High
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.17, File Browser builds new user scopes from usernames passed through cleanUsername() when Signup=true and CreateUserDir=true, but the many-to-one normalization can collapse usernames such as team/one, team one, and team-one to the same home directory without checking whether the resulting scope is already taken, allowing a second registrant to gain full read and write access to another user's files. This issue is fixed in version 2.63.17.
CVE-2026-62683 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-07-15 3.1 Low
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.17, File Browser can leave a public directory share behind when the shared directory is deleted through a path with a trailing slash because the share cleanup path calls DeleteWithPathPrefix(file.Path, userID) and the Bolt backend performs the database prefix query with the unnormalized path before trimming the slash for boundary checks, so deleting /a/ does not delete the stored /a share and the stale public share exposes future content if the same path is recreated. This issue is fixed in version 2.63.17.
CVE-2026-62843 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-07-15 6.8 Medium
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. From 2.63.6 to 2.63.16, File Browser's archive builder uses strings.ReplaceAll(nameInArchive, "\", "/"), which turns a POSIX filename such as ..\..\evil.sh into the archive entry ../../evil.sh, allowing a user with upload permission to plant a backslash-named file that escapes the extraction directory when another user downloads and extracts the generated zip or tar archive. This issue is fixed in version 2.63.17.
CVE-2026-61874 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-07-14 3.1 Low
filebrowser versions before 2.63.17 fail to normalize paths before querying the share index in DeleteWithPathPrefix, allowing authenticated users to leave stale public shares behind. Attackers can delete a shared directory using a trailing-slash path, then recreate the same directory to expose new contents through the dormant public share URL.
CVE-2026-55668 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-07-08 6.3 Medium
File Browser provides a web file managing interface. Prior to 2.63.16, ScopedFs validates the nearest existing ancestor of a dangling symlink as in scope and then follows the symlink during file creation, allowing an authenticated user with Create and Modify permissions to create attacker-controlled files outside the user's scope. This issue is fixed in version 2.63.16.
CVE-2026-54091 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-26 7.5 High
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.6, File Browser's public share handlers rebase the share owner's filesystem root to the shared directory and then evaluate descendant paths against the owner's global and per-user rules using the rebased relative path instead of the original path relative to the owner's scope. As a result, an attacker who knows a public directory share URL can access files and subdirectories that the owner explicitly blocked with rules, as long as those blocked paths are located underneath the shared directory. In the simplest case this is an unauthenticated information disclosure through `GET /api/public/share/*` and `GET /api/public/dl/*`. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.6.
CVE-2026-54090 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-26 N/A
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.33.8, when a shell interpreter is configured (e.g. /bin/sh -c), the command allowlist can be bypassed through shell metacharacters. The allowlist validates only the first token of user input, but the entire raw string is handed to the shell — semicolons, pipes, backticks, and $() all work to chain arbitrary commands after a permitted one. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.33.8.
CVE-2026-54097 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-26 N/A
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.6, a low-privileged authenticated user of filebrowser (with create + delete permissions in their own isolated scope) can silently destroy share-link records belonging to any other user — including the administrator — by performing a legitimate DELETE on a file in their own directory whose logical path happens to be a byte-prefix of another user's stored share.Link.Path. The file contents of the victim are not exposed, but the victim's share links are irrevocably wiped. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.6.
CVE-2026-54092 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-26 6.5 Medium
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.6, unchecked passwords maximums allow for an arbitrarily large password to be passed into the login API. This spikes CPU and memory, and after testing, crashes, heavily lags any container created, and has even made my docker daemon start to send errors with status code 500 even after the container was destroyed. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.6.
CVE-2026-55667 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-26 8.2 High
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.16, a scoped, non-admin File Browser user holding only the Create permission can delete arbitrary files outside their scope (other tenants' data, and the application's own database) via the upload failure-cleanup path. ScopedFs.RemoveAll is the one dereferencing operation that skips the symlink guard every other method enforces. The direct-upload handler runs RemoveAll on the user-controlled path during failed-upload cleanup, gated only by Perm.Create. If an escaping directory symlink already exists inside the user's scope, an authenticated create-only user can delete an out-of-scope target, bypassing both the ScopedFs boundary and the Perm.Delete gate. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.16.
CVE-2026-54093 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-25 N/A
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.6, filebrowser builds the download-as-zip / download-as-tar archive entry names with filepath.ToSlash, which on a Linux host is a no-op for backslashes (\ is only a path separator on Windows). A file whose name contains Windows-style traversal is accepted by the resource handlers, stored on the Linux filesystem with a literal backslash name, and then emitted verbatim as the archive entry name. Windows extractors interpret \ as a path separator and write the extracted file outside the extraction directory — arbitrary file write on the victim who downloads and extracts the archive. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.6.
